The European Business Association (EBA)

The European Business Association was established in 1999 as a forum for discussion and resolution of problems facing the private sector in Ukraine. At present it brings together more than 240 European companies, offering:

• Collective Advocacy of members' interests, also through the Association's committees;
• Regular Information Support on developments affecting business in Ukraine, seminars and speaking events;
• A voice in the EU policy-making process; through strong working links to the European Commission and the national EU embassies in Kyiv;
• Networking opportunities and social events – chances for the European business community to meet informally.

The EBA arose from the initiative of companies and organisations that saw advantages and benefits in the European business community in acting together. The Association operates as an independent body responsible to its members. It acts as a platform for information exchange and dialogue with Ukrainian authorities.

Being a non-profit Association of legal entities, the EBA sees its core mission as representing the interests of European investors in Ukraine, and improving the investment climate has been its major concern since the moment it was founded.

The EBA represents many companies that have been working in Ukraine for some time already. These enterprises are interested not only in the successful development of their own businesses, but also in the long-term prospects for stability and the development of Ukraine as a whole. This determines to a large extent the EBA’s goals with respect to economic policy: the Association’s primary responsibility is to support and promote structural changes that would be of long-term benefit for investors. The EBA’s positions are built upon the priorities of rule of law, the transparency of rules and regulations, and the equitable treatment of different investors both by governmental agencies and legislation.

The EBA aims to improve business conditions in two primary directions. First, since considerable legislative change is taking place to reshape the business environment, the Association sees its role as defending strategic solutions that are of long-term benefit for current and future investors. At the same time, the Association sees the need to address on a day-to-day basis the loopholes in existing legislation or government practices that create barriers for member companies, and thus facilitate business conditions for investors currently working in the country. This is the major direction of the EBA’s committee work.

Ukrainian Transport Insurance Company (UTICO)

Joint-stock enterprise "Ukrainian Transport Insurance Company " (UTICO) is guided in permanent activity by a principle of provision the reliable protection of interests of insurants. For this purpose the experts of the company develop a complex of insurance services by various kinds of insurance which includes all basic industrial spheres of the enterprise. Conditions of insurance correspond the world standards, take into account the features of the Ukrainian economy and meet the requirements of modern insurance market. Protection of interests of insurants is served by the specific financial policy of the company that provides diversification risks with the purpose of optimization of reliability, profitableness and liquidity of investments, as well as the advanced system of risks reinsurance. In case of need the reinsurance of the significant risks accepted by the company on insurance, we have an opportunity to place them among the reliable Ukrainian companies which take the first rating positions, and in the international markets.

Activity of the company is focused on performance of classical kinds of insurance. For each of them UTICO has developed the system of service and protective measures that raises the quality of service of insurants.

In our activity we give the main attention to development of insurance of the property, cargoes, transport (ground, sea, air), various kinds of the civil and industrial responsibility, financial risks, from accidents, medical insurance and insurance in case of illness, medical expenses (in Ukraine and abroad).
